Amharic / Ethiopian

The Ethiopian script includes about 300 syllables, each represented with
a distinct glyph. I have assumed that any of the languages which use
this script would include all or most of these syllables. Does anyone know
whether that is in fact the case? Or do some languages include only a
subset of these syllable glyphs? I am especially wondering about AMHARIC.

Thanks,
mike forgey
