Reminds me of a conversation I half-heard on a bus in Dublin yesterday,
when I mistook the language of the speakers, on the strength of a single
phrase, which I misheard as 'a[n] saol a bhí' (Irish Gaelic for 'times
past, the good old days, etc.', in which that [n] is always silent) turned
out to be, in fact, the French phrase 'C'est la vie'!:-)
