Old Persian Cuneiform

A revised code chart and names list for Old Persian Cuneiform is available
at http://www.indigo.ie/egt/standards/iso10646/opc2.html. The original
proposal is available at
http://www.dkuug.dk/JTC1/SC2/WG2/docs/n1639/n1639.htm. Changes involved the
correction of glyphs for DI, DU, MU, SA, and AURAMAZDAA. Changes also
included correction of alphabetical order of characters in positions
xx25-xx29, and correction of names to match the glyphs in positions
xx1A-xx1F. Transliteration follows that found in Daniels & Bright, which is
standard Indological.

Directionality of the script is RTL, for all the characters. The SIGNS are
all treated like letters, syllables or words (spacing, "Lo", bidi category
"L"), the SEPARATOR is a rather neutral punctuator, and the NUMBERs are
numbers.

As far as I know, there is only one outstanding question on the proposal
for Old Persian. Although the SIGN DAHYAAUSH has two glyph variants, and
the SIGN AURAMAZDAA has two glyph variants, those variants are not encoded.
However, the genitive of AURAMAZDAA has a unique form, AURAMAZDAAHA. Should
this be encoded as a unique ideogram, or by some sequence of characters
(and if so, what sequence of characters?)?

Best regards,
