In some old German books, I've seen a slanted = at the beginning
of a hyphenated word, and if I remember it correctly, in Croatic,
it is quite standard to hyphenate with a dash at the end of
the first and the beginning of the second line---quite a
sensible way of doing it, making the task of removing hyphenated
words easier.
