  I doubt it. Moreover, JPEG is a bad choice for that purpose. GIF
or PNG is much better. You can see my point if you compare the size of
JPEG and GIF/PNG files for the same glyph. Generally, the size INCREASE
when you convert GIF/PNG files mainly made of line elements to JPEG.
