We have become accustomed to the expression of extreme opinions regarding
standardisation, but the recent contribution by Markus Kuhn seems excessive.
His assessment of such a complex (and sensitive) historical, cultural and
political matter as the languages that communities speak as part of a
summary of "internationally widely accepted standard conventions", and in
such a mechanistic way, is simply astonishing.
