I have a (non-stolen) Russian children's book devoted to such word pairs,
it's called "Forty Magpies", namely:

    COPOK COPOK -- 'so.rok so.'rok

OK OK, the title just *looks like* "COPOK COPOK"!

Meanwhile, back in English, we have:

    earth
    earthy

    air
    airy

    water
    watery

    fire
    fiery

Inconsistently,

Joe
