65499 glyphs. All BMP characters, or close to it. ASCII glyphs
were included. The font is a whopping 3.75 MB. Like you've
said, this kind of thing could be done by the system with
a much, much smaller font.

Meanwhile, thought a hexadecimal version of a font which could
be used as a "last resort" on Windows might be handy for testers.
But, until you mentioned making the glyphs vertical, it hadn't
crossed my mind to do so.

Once the font is cleaned up a bit, it'll probably be posted on my
home page as freeware. Any suggestions for vertical vs. horizontal
would be appreciated and considered.
