    It depends on how you are typesetting the text. See, for example,

    where the Arabic goes bottom-to-top and the Latin from top-to-bottom.

    BIDI should also control how a mixture of vertical Japanese and Ogham would be
    handled. (Admittedly that's a rather obscure combination, though.)
