    The Unicode Technical Committee has posted a new issue for public review
    and comment. Details are on the following web page:

    Review period for the new item closes on October 27, 2008.

    Please see the page for links to discussion and relevant documents.
    Briefly, the new issue is:

    UTR #17, Unicode Character Encoding Model, is being updated to correct the
    titles for various references. The model has been resynched to bring it
    back up to date for Unicode 5.0. The text has also been edited fairly
    extensively for readability and consistency.
