225 Use of Accented Pinyin for kHanyuPinlu in the Unihan database 2012.07.23

Resolution: The change will be made in version 6.2.1.

Description of Issue:

In the Unihan database, fields that contain pinyin property values all use accents for the representation of tones except for the kHanyuPinlu field. The kHanyuPinlu field uses numbers to represent tones instead. For example, kHanyuPinlu has zhong1 instead of zhōng.

The Unicode Technical Committee is considering transforming the data for kHanyuPinlu so that it also uses accented pinyin. This change would make it easier for implementations to process the Unihan database consistently.
