Before moving to Seattle, Fernando Caro lived in Quebec, Canada for 23 years. While growing up he learned and became fluent in 3 languages (English, French, and Spanish). At the University of Concordia, he majored in International Business with a minor in Finance. His interest in computer technology and the diversity in languages led him to work for Matrox Graphics Inc after his graduation. While at Matrox, where he worked for the two and half years, he was responsible for the management of the internationalization/localization of the graphics drivers into 16 languages. In 1997, he moved to Seattle to work at Microsoft for the OLAP Services group. While with the OLAP Services team, he established and managed the internationalization/localization of Plato. After shipping OLAP Services, he moved on to do the International Program Management for the SQL group.
