This script is also known as "Thaana", it is still in use, and
it has been added in Unicode 3.0. I know there are some 8-bit
codepages (or, at least, one), but I don't know anything about
them and have no idea what the status of any of them are (i.e.
whether any one is widely used or a defacto standard).

       Hallo.

What is the status of the Maldivian(*) script in Unicode? Has
it been proposed for addition? Balloted for?

And, as we are at it, what is the status of Maldivian script
*out* of Unicode? Is it still used? Any 8-bit character sets
       exist.

       Regards.

(* -> Maldivian is a right-to-left alphabet used on the
Maldives Islands. I believe that it is mixed with the Arabic
script, that is used to spell words
of Arabic origin, and with European numerals)
