Dear Subscribers --

The conversation now underway between Hans Aberg and Jon Hanna
is an example of "unnecessary banter" that could be taken off
the list. This sort of thing generates complaints, I'm afraid,
and it could as well be a private exchange between the duellists,
rather than involving the lot of us.

Some have asserted that Mr. Aberg should read the standard before
proposing changes to it. Perhaps he will thrill us all by reading
the standard before he posts again.
