Description of Issue:

The content and structure of personal names can vary widely across languages and regions. The background document describes a proposed addition to the CLDR LDML specification (UTS #35) to support the formatting of personal names, based on review of current standards that exist in LDAP, hcard, HTML and commercial implementations, as well as a review of name conventions around the world.

The CLDR TC would appreciate feedback on whether there are specific changes or enhancements that should be made in the proposed specification.

For details, see the background document.
