I didn't have the motivation to pursue the earlier
material because there were only tiny scraps of text
and they weren't sure it was really an alphabet.
The new material only became public 2 years ago, and I
was waiting until there was a small body of scholarly
material. Now they have at least one "long" text---20
words in a line of text inscribed in sandstone or
whatever on a wadi in Egypt that also has other
Egyptian material---Elaine
